About this file

This is a Request for Limited Sources Justification for a Department of Veterans Affairs order through the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS). The document seeks to procure 115 BT's of PYLARIFY (piflufolastat F 18) Injections from Progenics Pharmaceuticals Inc. for the Portland VA Medical Center, with a total estimated value of $721,744.00 and a unit price of $3,608.72 per BT. The pharmaceutical is a radioactive diagnostic agent used for PET imaging in men with prostate cancer who have suspected metastasis and are candidates for initial definitive therapy.

The justification cites FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(B) as the authority, indicating that only one source is capable of providing the required supplies at the specified quality level. Market research conducted on the SBA Dynamic Small Business Search using NAICS code 325412 revealed 147 SDVOSBs and 26 VOSBs, but Progenics Pharmaceuticals is the sole manufacturer of PYLARIFY. The order will be placed against FSS Contract 36F79725D0093, which was awarded on 03/27/2025, with a performance period from 07/01/2025 to 06/30/2026 for the Virtual Integrated Service Network (VISN) 20 in Portland, Oregon.
