About this file

This justification document outlines an emergency sole source award for additional bed monitoring equipment to support COVID-19 response efforts at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The Department of Veterans Affairs awarded a firm fixed price purchase order to Spacelabs Healthcare, LLC on October 7, 2020 for $576,607.04 to acquire additional bed monitors. These monitors are necessary to expand the medical center's capacity to treat and monitor patients during the pandemic by providing physicians and nurses monitoring capabilities for an increased volume of patients. Due to the urgent nature of the requirement to address the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the justification cites unusual and compelling urgency to restrict competition and make this award on a non-competitive basis.

Any delay in procuring these items will pose a sever risk to patient health and recovery.
