About this file

This document is a justification for a single source award according to FAR 13.106-1 for supplies over the micro-purchase threshold but not exceeding $250,000. The Department of Veterans Affairs Butler Healthcare System requires an additional ScriptPro EyeCon counting device and upgrade of its ScriptPro 200 vial dispenser to a bulk load model. The estimated amount for one EyeCon device, interface controller, conversion kit, and conversion of the existing dispenser is under $250,000. This specific equipment is required to be compatible with the ScriptPro pharmacy automation system already in use since 2016, and will increase pharmacy technician efficiency in filling vials into the robot for faster patient care. The related federal contract opportunity is a total small business set-aside with solicitation number 36C24423Q1089 for the brand name only ScriptPro EyeCon and vial dispenser being procured by the VA's Veterans Health Administration VISN 4.

353 North Duffy Road Butler, PA 16001. Purchase Request:

2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: The

Butler VA Medical Center uses a ScriptPro pharmacy system and needs to purchase an additional new Brand Name Only ScriptPro EyeCon Counting Device and upgrade the vial dispenser to the Bulk Load Vial Dispenser. ScriptPro’s bulk load vial dispensers allow users to replenish vial dispensers by pouring vials directly from the vial box into the dispenser. This robust design and large capacity bring efficiency and reliability to vial replenishment.

ScriptPro Additional EyeCon Model 9430 Device and Conversion of SP 200 to Bulk Load Vial Dispenser.

Qty Description of Supplies

1 Eye Con Model 9430 (does not include label imaging camera).

1 Eyecon Interface Controller.

1 Eyecon Controller Conversion.

1 Conversion of SP 200 to Bulk Load Vial Dispenser.

Total Estimated amount:

3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: This ScriptPro Eyecon system is what VA Butler currently has on station, which was procured in September 2016. We are seeking an upgraded vial dispenser that needs to be compatible with the current robot. This is the only vial dispenser that will be compatible with the current equipment. Butler’s pharmacy has had this technology in-place since FY’2016, and this addition will ease technician burden filling the vials into the robot, which will increase productivity for faster patient care.
