About this file
This is a Single Source Justification document for a simplified acquisition procedure filed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23 at Omaha Medical Center.
The document justifies a single source award to Hillrom for full maintenance services on six Trumpf TruSystem 7000 and two TruSystem 7000DV surgical tables located at the Omaha VA Medical Center. The estimated contract value is $101,760.00, structured as a base year plus two one-year option periods. The required services include preventative maintenance, inspection, testing, adjustments, repairs, replacement parts, and system software maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. The justification cites the proprietary nature of the equipment and the fact that the original equipment manufacturer does not authorize third-party service providers to maintain these tables, which interface with the da Vinci Surgical Robot. Market research included searches of the VetCert database under NAICS 811210, review of prior acquisition documentation, and review of acquisition history. An Intent to Sole Source was posted to SAM.gov with zero responses received. No other qualified sources were identified as capable of providing the required maintenance services. Contracting Officer Amanda Patterson-Elliott certified the purchase as approved under FAR 13.106-1(b) on September 24, 2026.

1. Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23, Omaha Medical Center, 4101 Woolworth Avenue, Omaha, NE 68105 636-27-1-2301-0006
2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:
Full maintenance services for six Trumpf TruSystem 7000 and two TruSystem 7000DV surgical tables located at the Omaha VA Medical Center. The TruSystem tables are used in conjunction with the da Vinci Surgical Robot. The requirement consists of a base year plus two one-year option periods, with an estimated value of $101,760.00
3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used:
The Trumpf TruSystem 7000/7000DV surgical tables are proprietary medical equipment, and the Trusystem 7000DV tables interface with the da Vinci Surgical Robot. The required services include preventative maintenance, inspection, testing, adjustments, repairs, replacement parts, and maintenance of system software in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. The OEM does not authorize third-party service providers to maintain this equipment. Due to the proprietary hardware, software parts, and technical requirements associated with the equipment, Hillrom is the only source identified as capable of providing the required maintenance services.
4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted:
Market research included a search of the VetCert database under NAICS 811210, review of prior market research and acquisition documentation for these maintenance services, and review of acquisition history and known sources for the requirement. Prior market research determined that third-party service providers were not authorized by the OEM to maintain the Trump TruSytem 7000/7000DV surgical tables. Hillrom currently provides maintenance services for this equipment under the existing contract. An Intent to Sole Source was posted to SAM.gov for the requirement, and zero responses were received. Hillrom currently provides

5. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). I certify that the foregoing justification is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
