About this file

This document is a single source justification for a federal contract award over the micro-purchase threshold but not exceeding $250,000. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 22, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System requires removal and replacement of the 2500kw generator's custom exhaust stack from the turbocharger to exhaust expansion joint at its facility. This includes all necessary exhaust gaskets, nuts, bolts, washers, and fiberglass material covering from the turbocharger to expansion joint. The estimated amount for the work is $81,270.64. A single source award is justified due to an unusual and compelling urgency - smoke was detected leaking from the generator exhaust into the hospital ventilation system, making employees sick, and the unit is now only operating for emergencies and has halted required monthly NFPA 110 testing. The customer provided the suggested source for the work and the contracting office validated the source met all government requirements prior to award.
