About this file
This document is a Brand Name Justification for a Firm Fixed Price purchase order for an Ophthalmoscope And Otoscope Wallboard System under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT).
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 12, William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital is procuring the Welch Allyn GS777 Wallboard system, which is an integrated tool system configured with multiple exam tools including ophthalmoscope, otoscope, aneroid blood pressure monitor and specula dispenser. The procurement will be set aside for small businesses and awarded as a firm fixed price purchase order, with an estimated value under $250,000. The justification cites the need to standardize integrated wall systems and diagnostic equipment across the Madison VA Ambulatory Care department to provide the highest level of care and safety for patients and staff. Market research identified ten authorized distributors, six of which are small businesses, but no verified SDVOSB or VOSB vendors that can provide the required brand name product. Therefore, the procurement will be set aside for small businesses only.
