About this file

This document is a Justification for Limiting Sources (LSJ) for the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS). The agency intends to purchase a Crown Turret Stockpicker Model TSP-6500 turret forklift for its main warehouse in Carolina, Puerto Rico, with an estimated value of $172,954.00. The procurement will be made against one of two Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contracts with Federal Contracts Corp or Logistics365, Inc., as these are the only authorized vendors by the manufacturer.

The TSP-6500 forklift offers specific capabilities including lifting to 531 inches, handling a maximum capacity of 3,300 pounds, and supporting very narrow-aisle operations. The justification for brand name limitation is based on the equipment's unique characteristics, which are essential to meet government needs and are not available from alternative sources. The document notes that alternative products would not be compatible with existing equipment and would require additional purchases. The acquisition is set for posting on e-Buy, with the requirement being a small business set-aside, and is expected to be solicited on or before 04/29/2024.
