About this file

This document is a Sole Source Justification under Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Certain Commercial Items in accordance with FAR 13.5. The Department of Veterans Affairs, RPO West, VISN 20, on behalf of the Boise VA Medical Center, is seeking a new full-service maintenance contract for Steris equipment, including labor, travel, parts, repairs, preventative maintenance, and software support for 22 items. The justification cites FAR 13.5 as the authority to restrict competition to a single responsible source, Steris Corporation, as the manufacturer and sole provider of the proprietary services required. The anticipated award date is 10/01/2024, and the anticipated contract value is $116,483.94. No other sources were solicited due to the unique and proprietary nature of the service. The pricing was determined to be fair and reasonable based on comparison to previous Steris contracts. This will be a firm-fixed-price base plus four one-year option contract.
