SOURCES SOUGHT

Leica Proveo 8x

This is a Sources Sought (SS) Notice only; it is not a Solicitation (i.e., Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, or Invitation for Bids). This SS is part of the Government’s market research effort to determine the scope of industry capabilities and interest and will be treated as information only. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responses to this SS are strictly voluntary, and the Government will not pay respondents for information provided in response to this SS. Responses to this SS will not be returned, and respondents will not be notified of the result of the review.

The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to conduct market research to determine an appropriate acquisition strategy, including identifying whether a sufficient number of Small Businesses are capable of providing the required equipment to support a potential set-aside. This requirement is for the procurement of an advanced ophthalmic surgical microscope system for use by the Ophthalmology Service at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106. The system will be utilized to support a variety of ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract surgery, glaucoma procedures, retinal surgery, and corneal transplantation.

The Leica Proveo 8x is an advanced, modular digital ophthalmic surgical microscope designed to provide high-definition, real-time visualization during microsurgical procedures. The system features advanced digital imaging capabilities that enable heads-up surgical visualization through a high-resolution display, allowing surgeons to maintain an ergonomic posture while operating. The platform provides enhanced depth of field, high-sensitivity imaging at low illumination levels, and advanced visualization capabilities that support precision during delicate ophthalmic procedures. The system also supports flexible viewing options, including traditional binocular optics, digital heads-up display, and compatibility with wearable surgical viewing systems. In addition, the platform allows integration of intraoperative imaging and surgical data overlays, improving visualization, workflow efficiency, and teaching capabilities during surgery. These capabilities support improved surgical accuracy, enhanced ergonomics for providers, and expanded teaching opportunities for ophthalmology trainees in a clinical surgical environment.

Potential sources must demonstrate the capability to provide the required equipment. Potential sources should submit:

• Point of Contact with email address and phone number;

• Business name and address;

• What country the product is made in; and

• Whether or not your company is the OEM or a distributor. If a distributor, indicate who the OEM is and provide an authorized distributor letter.

Proprietary/Competition Sensitive information (appropriately marked) will be protected from disclosure to the greatest extent practical, however it is preferred that respondents do not provide proprietary or otherwise restricted responses unless they are indicating proprietary technical characteristics.

Vendors are hereby notified that if a competitive solicitation is issued on the SAM website https://sam.gov at a later date, all interested parties must respond to that Solicitation announcement separately from any response to this SS announcement. This SS does not restrict the Government's acquisition approach on a future Solicitation.

No faxes, courier-delivered, or telephone inquiries/submissions will be accepted. Responses should be submitted to Rachelle J. Hamer, Contracting Officer, at rachelle.hamer@va.gov, by Wednesday March 18, 2026, by 5PM ET. Enter “RFI 36C25026Q0381 | Leica Proveo 8x” in the email subject line.
