About this file

The file is a Sources Sought spreadsheet related to a Request for Information (RFI) from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) seeking domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers. The spreadsheet contains a comprehensive list of 50+ pharmaceutical products, including medications for treating conditions such as osteoporosis, alcoholism, diabetes, hypertension, depression, and various other medical needs. Each entry includes specific details like generic drug name, station item number, pharmaceutical description, and treatment usage.

The RFI aims to identify domestic small and large business pharmaceutical manufacturers with efficient production capabilities for open market (OM) purchases to supplement their prime vendor contract. The VA is conducting market research to support its daily prescription fulfillment of approximately 450,000 prescriptions to Veterans, with a focus on gathering information about manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and ancillary items. The solicitation emphasizes domestic production and is specifically interested in manufacturers' capabilities, FDA approvals, manufacturing locations, distribution networks, and socio-economic status. This RFI is purely for procurement planning and does not guarantee a contract award.

*****Notes:
1) This requests is for the acquisition planning of commerically available items via open market channels at fair and reasonable pricing.
2) Pharamceutical NDCs with no FDA approval should not be submitted forward as viable open market items in response to the RFI.
3) NDCs should be reflective of the manufacturer and not correlated back to a repackager. The NDC will be used to verify important information. If the NDC correlates back to multiple manufacturing facilities, where not all facilities are domestic, the contractor should notate that in the "comments" section and advise of the multiple locations the items are manufactured out of and how the domestically produced items are differentiated in product labeling.
