Statement of Work Pressure Reducing Mattress Systems for Grand Island VAMC I. Requirement: Provide all necessary materials, tools, transportation, shipping, labor, installation and in-service training for Specialized Mattress and Pump Systems to the Grand Island VA Medical Center, 2201 N, Broadwell Ave, Grand Island NE, 68803.
II. Salient Characteristics:
Provide (4) mattresses and (4) 1-in 2 alternating pressure pumps that meet the following specifications:
· Mattress and Pump provided shall be compatible with each other.
· Mattress must have a pressure redistribution foam support surface.
· Mattress/Pump must provide microclimate management to help regulate patient temperature by keeping skin cool.
· Mattress must include a protection liner that encases inner contents of mattress enhancing infection control.
· Mattress without pump must provide non-powered pressure redistribution.
· Mattress must include a replaceable durable top cover designed to handle cleaning products and protocols.
· Mattress shall be 35 inches wide by 80” inches long to fit current beds.
· Mattress must not weigh greater than 38 lbs.
· Mattress shall have a minimum of 9 cells and 3 zones.
· Must have reinforced evacuation handles.
· Alternating Pump/Control unit shall weigh no more then 5lbs for safe patient handling/preventing staff injury.
· Pump shall have and minimum adjustable cycle time from 0 to 5 minutes.
· Pump must be able to use 120 volt, 60 hertz power.
Mattress should stay inflated if power is disconnected.
Provide 30 specialized Low Air Loss Therapy mattress/1-in 3 alternating pump systems that meet the following specifications:
· Mattress and Pump provided shall be compatible with each other
· Must be a muliti-cell/multi channel air mattress.
· Must be capable of the following modes: Static, Alternating, Auto-Firm and Fowler.
· Must include an auto fowler attachment to boost seat inflation when head is elevated.
· Must include control unit lock-out to ensure settings are not tampered with.
· Dimensions must be 35 inches wide by 80 inches long to fit existing meds.
· Minimum weight capacity shall be 600 lbs.
· Pump shall provide both active or reactive pressure redistribution while also allowing for low air loss therapy. Equipped with 4 air tubes with connectors that match the Pump/Control Unit shall be self-contained and totally enclosed to keep out liquid spills and assist with cleaning and sanitation.
· Must include machine washable top cover that is vapor permeable.
· Pump must provide a minimum 3-20 minute variable rotation cycle time.Pump must have a minimum of power failure and low pressure alarms.
· Pump shall include hooks for pump to hang off of bed footboard.
· Pump must be able to use 120 volt, 60 hertz power.
· Pump shall not weigh more than 12 lbs.
