About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Alinity M Reagents procurement by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The Government intends to issue a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Priced Purchase Order to Abbott Inc., justified under FAR 12.302(a) and 41 USC 1901 due to the unique and specialized nature of the supplies. Abbott Inc. is identified as the only capable source to meet the Government's specific reagent requirements for the Alinity M diagnostic system.
The procurement is limited to supplies with no services component, and falls under NAICS Code 325413 with a size standard of 1,250 employees. This Notice of Intent to Sole Source was published in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1) to provide interested parties an opportunity to demonstrate alternative capability; however, the Government anticipates proceeding with Abbott Inc. as the sole source. The document does not specify response deadlines, award dates, or detailed pricing information, as it functions as a preliminary notice rather than a complete solicitation package.
