About this file
This is a Justification and Approval (J&A) document outlining vessel maintenance and repair requirements for a federal contract opportunity.
The document specifies four work items required for a vessel designated TAH-CCSI: (1) Weathertight Double Door Repair (CCO 102) addressing weather deck door deterioration that allows water penetration into the vessel interior, with focus on replacing damaged sill plates under door thresholds; (2) CG 835 Double Door Reversal (CCO 146) requiring submission of a repair proposal within 30 days to address door blockage of egress scuttle 6-42-0, with Coast Guard compliance required regardless of signage; (3) Tailshaft Seal Inspection Replacement (CCO 259) requiring services of a Wartsila technical representative to oversee installation of GFM stern tube seals both inside and outside; and (4) Miscellaneous Drain and Piping Repairs (CCO 266) involving renewal of approximately 10 feet of deteriorated piping discovered above ceiling tile at location 1-54-0. All work items carry a 5-year service interval designation, with the weatherdeck preservation item noting a 20 percent allocation for Zone C. The contract references J&A No. N10426C0006P00010 and appears to address Coast Guard regulatory compliance requirements in addition to routine preventive maintenance needs.

PRESERVATION (20 PCT)(5
YR)(ZONE C)
Weathertight Double Door Repair (01-84-1): The weather deck door described below allows pooling water on the outside to almost immediately penetrate the interior of the vessel. The door no longer meets weather tight requirements. The doors is predominately in good functional condition but suspect the sill plates under the door thresholds are no longer intact.
0154 - TAH CCSI ABS SPECIAL
SURVEY - TANK INSPECTION (5 YR)
CG_835 DBL Door Reversal: 835 issued to address the door blocking egress scuttle 6-42-0. The requirement at this point is only to submit a repair proposal so the egress will be unimpeded regardless of door operation. CG requires submission within 30 days. Signage alone does not absolve the vessel from this requirement.
TAH CSI TAILSHAFT SEAL
INSPECTION REPLACEMENT (5 YR)
Provide the services of a Wartsila technical representative to oversee the installation of the GFM stern tube seals both inside and outside.
MISCELLANEOUS DRAIN AND
