054-190-010 Responses to Questions

The uploaded drawings from Emma seem to be non-scalable and sized to 8.5x11. Is there another set of corrected and accurately scaled drawings available to download?Drawing attached.

Is there a detail and/or further information regarding the existing concrete precast hollow core planks and required core drilling?

Do we know the depth of penetration?

See plan & section below from as-built drawing S-3 attached; contractor to verify as-built is accurate. Notes show 6” hollow-core planks w/ 2” min/3”max topping slab w/ 6x6 W1.4xW1.4 WWM.

Will supplemental support/reinforcement need to be factored into the new penetrations?

Supplemental support/reinforcement is not expected for pipe penetrations =/<6” diameter and minimum 4” from plank edges.

3. Is there a detail for anchoring wall carriers into existing concrete precast hollow core planks?

a. What are the limitations over the hollow chambers if this is encountered?

See below response in 3b.

b. Should wall carriers’ feet be through-bolted and shored to the underside of precast hollow core plank.

Wall carrier bearing points (feet) to be thru-bolted to underside of precast hollow core plank and are not to land on plank joints with minimum 1-1/2” to plank edge.

4. Plumbing Demolition Drawing PD-101 note 3 – is there an existing sprinkler system & piping to be removed?

A limited sprinkler system (three heads) serves the existing water heater room and storage room. It is not tied in to the existing fire alarm system. Connection to the existing domestic water system is pictured below. The sprinkler system is to be removed and the extent of the system is indicated on PD-101. No new sprinkler system is to be installed.

5. Please confirm the color price group for the solid surface counters SS1 and SS2.

Color will be selected by DNR from Contractor-provided samples.

6. Is there any more information available (model/spec, existing system type) for the “security camera device and cable that is compatible with existing security system” per Key Note 4 on E-102?

There is a security system (Digital Watchdog DW-VP16-16P). Please see the attached datasheet for a basis of design for the camera.
