OVERHAUL DESCRIPTION
FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY

Items as received by the contractor must be complete and of the proper cited part number. Discrepancies shall be reported to the Coast Guard Contracting Officer.
OVERHAUL REQUIREMENTS:
Each SHUT-OFF MECHANICAL (Over-speed Trip) shall be inspected in order to determine the extent of required repairs. A Condition Report and Cost Proposal shall be provided to the Coast Guard Contracting Officer 30 days from receipt of each over-speed trip, which shall include: the required repairs needed for each over-speed trip, new replacement parts required individually priced, labor rate, labor hours required, and a total estimate for all required services which shall also include any charges for labor in the repair or building of a new shipping container. The part number, NSN and serial number for each SAFETY SHUT-OFF TRIP shall be documented on the Condition Report. If not assigned, the Contractor shall assign a serial number. The serial number shall be stamped into each Shut-Off, Mechanical.
OVERHAUL REQUIREMENTS:
Each OVERSPEED TRIP shall be overhauled to a condition which shall restore the operating and performance characteristics to the OEM's like new current design and technical specifications. Overhaul shall be performed in accordance with CATERPILLER specifications and standards, which are proprietary to CATERPILLER. All repair parts shall be genuine CATERPILLER manufactured parts. The over-speed trip carrier will be set-up for the 1416 +/- 20 RPM engine speed trip or 660 +/- 12.5 RPM with the over-speed off the engine for testing. After completion of all repairs a final inspection/assembly report shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer for approval. This report shall have all OEM minimum and maximum design dimensions and clearances of all attributes along with the actual dimensions documented. All out of tolerance dimensions shall be circled or highlighted.
A waiver request shall be submitted with all out of tolerance conditions stating why the out of tolerance condition is acceptable along with a statement that the function and performance of the SAFETY SHUT-OFFVERSPEED TRIP will not be diminished or compromised.
WARRANTY:
A. Standard Manufacturer's Warranty
X B. Item being repaired as an "onboard repair" or a "system stock" item and will be put into inventory. NOT FOR IMMEDIATE INSTALLATION.
Contractor must guarantee item against defects that lead to failure for
90 days after installation for a period of up to two (2) years after delivery to Coast Guard.

GOVERNMENT ACCEPTANCE:
Acceptance will be made at destination by a Government representative.
Acceptance will be contingent upon the representative's verification of no damage in transit, correctness and completeness of order and contractor's conformance to preservation/packaging, packing and marking requirements.

PACKAGING AND MARKING FOR SHIPMENT:
X A. Each unit shall be packed individually in it's own wooden box which shall be capable of providing adequate protection to the item during multiple shipments. Mark each box in legible black print lettering with the following information:
