The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Program Support Center (PSC), Acquisition Management Services (AMS), The Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) intends to sole source to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network for 22 annual licenses to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has established a review process of compendia requests which includes recommendations from a national medical expert panel, which includes criteria that should be met before Medicare includes a drug compendia as a drug reference guide. NCCN Drug & Biologics Compendium is on the list of Medicare anti-cancer treatment compendium.

The compendium that was approved was exclusive to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Administrative Law Judges and Attorneys within the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) need access to this specifically approved drug compendium to ascertain anti-cancer drug coverage determinations that have been appealed and are before their consideration for decision.
