About this file

This document is an informational guide produced by the State of Michigan's Office of Retirement Services (ORS) and the Michigan Public School Employees' Retirement System (MPSERS) regarding retirement plan selection options. The guide is designed to assist employees in understanding and choosing between available retirement plans offered through MPSERS. The document serves as an educational resource rather than a formal procurement or contract request, providing comprehensive information to help plan members make informed decisions about their retirement benefits and plan options.

The guide contains detailed explanations of the different retirement plan structures available to MPSERS members, including plan features, benefit calculations, contribution requirements, and retirement eligibility criteria. It addresses key considerations for plan selection, including how plan choice affects retirement income, service credit accrual, and long-term financial planning. The document is intended for broad distribution to MPSERS-covered employees across Michigan public school systems and serves as a reference tool for plan members at various career stages who are evaluating their retirement options. There are no specific procurement requirements, bid deadlines, or contract award dates associated with this informational document.

Evaluation Process Award recommendation is made to the responsible bidder who offers the best value to the State of Michigan. Best value is based on the quote providing the best combination of evaluation criteria factors and price. Printing Services, in consultation with the customer, may elect to award to a vendor with a higher bid, if the bid provides a better value based on turnaround time or other criteria.
