Solicitation Notice ID: ORA-2024-120099 (WEAC Storage Shelving)

Q1. Can the rail system be secured to the floor? Or is it preferred not to anchor into floor?

A1. Rail system must be secured to the floor.

Q2. Are wall mounted systems acceptable where storage is adjacent to drywall, or are freestanding systems everywhere required?

A2. Freestanding systems required.

Q3. Are load requirements actually up to 800 lbs for individual shelves, 2000 per unit? Is a slightly lower load capacity such as 600 per shelf and 1600 per unit acceptable?

A3.Yes, original #s are required. A lower load capacity is not acceptable.

Q4. We provide custom shelving for all of our projects, with no premade kits or assemblies. Everything is built to order and customized for your needs. Can you provide any additional information on why you are vetting alternatives to Uline/Metro shelving? If there are any particular needs that aren't being met, or anything you are finding unsatisfactory about your current shelving, we can incorporate design considerations in our proposal to better meet your requirements.

A4. This requirement is being solicited BRAND NAME OR EQUAL to the METRO MAX Super Erecta/quikTRAK system.

Q5. Is union labor required for the installation?

A5. No

Q6. Is there projected time frame for the installation?

A6. See PWS section I.

Q7. Will the awarded party have access to confirm measurements after the areas have been cleared? Several rooms are currently crowded with product A7. Yes.

Q8. The synopsis states that there is there a loading dock, and freight elevator for the building. What is their location in relation to the storage areas, is there clear access?

A8. The loading dock is located on the Mid East side of the building there is direct access to the freight elevator from the loading dock, and there is clear access to all shelving install locations. See Attached “WEAC Site_Level Plan Markup”

Q9.The bid specifications are requesting “METRO MAX Super Erecta/quikTRAK system in Chrome”. However, these are different series of product within Intermetro’s portfolio. The finish for Max is polymer. Super Erecta could be chrome, epoxy coated or stainless steel. My inclination is that chrome would be sufficient for this application. Please confirm A9. Confirmed chrome finish is sufficient. Except for “cold room”. Cold Room is to be Stainless Steel. See A13.

Q10. Where will the staging area be for the new material delivery?

A10. Loading dock/inside loading dock. FDA also has room for a temporary container that would be located northeast of the loading dock adjacent to the utility building if needed at the cost of the vendor. See Attached “WEAC Site_Level Plan Markup”

Q11. Is this job tax-exempt?

A11. Yes

Q12. Who will move the boxes, refrigerators, materials, etc. out of the rooms prior to our arrival?

A12. Onsite WEAC program and facility staff.

Q13. Room 132/133 Cold Room - The room measurements do not accommodate the shelving being requested per the drawing. Should these racks be in Room 244 instead? If not, can you provide an updated drawing?

A13. Correct, it should be 244. Must be on Castors and in Stainless Steel.

Q14. Room 109 Community - Incorrect room measurements on provided drawing make the layout too tight.

May we suggest reducing one of the racks from 24" x 72" to a 24" x 60" instead?

A14. Confirmed the length of the room is 158” (drawing shows 166”). According to the drawing provided the shelving layout will still work 24+72+60=156.

Q15. Room 146 Radiation - Can you confirm which wall the racks should be placed on? The provided drawing does not identify a door for reference.

A15. The rack will be located on the west wall adjacent the outside loading dock door. See Attached “WEAC Site_Level Plan Markup”

Q16. Room 151 Obsolete - Incorrect room measurements on provided drawing identified. May we suggest reducing one of the shelving racks from a 14" x 48" to 14" x 36"?

A16. Confirmed the room is larger than the provided drawing (362”X 272”). 72X4=288 48+25=73, 73+288=361.

According to the provided drawing the layout still works.

Q17. The spec calls for MetroMax. During market research, it was concluded that chrome would be appropriate.

Which shall we quote?

A17. See A9.
