STATEMENT OF WORK
1.01 SUMMARY OF WORK TO BE DONE BY CONTRACTOR
A. Furnish and install two standby generators according to the statement of work below and the plans provided. One standby generator will be located at the “West
Pumphouse” the other will be located at the “East Pumphouse”. Materials and installation will be similar at each location. Completion of the project also includes the furnishing and installing off two liquid propane tanks, which shall be full of fuel and ready for service and service lines from the tanks to generator.

1.03 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE
A. Contact the IHS Project Engineer three business days before the start of any work.
B. Failure to perform work on the date scheduled shall require rescheduling the work 24-hours in advance.
C. Leave all work exposed until it is inspected and approved. Work not inspected before it is covered shall be re-exposed at the Contractor’s expense.
D. All work is to be performed Monday – Friday only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. –
5:00 p.m. No work is to be performed on the weekends and/or federal holidays unless other work schedule arrangements are approved by the IHS Project Engineer.

1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Perform work under the direction of personnel licensed in the state including, but not limited to Plumbing and Electrical.
B. Manufacturer Qualifications: Current certificate holder for compliance with ISO 9001.
C. Installer Qualifications: An authorized representative who is trained and approved by manufacturer for the installation of proposed generator.
D. Testing Agency Qualifications: Accredited by NETA.
1. Testing Agency's Field Supervisor: Certified by NETA to supervise on-site testing.
1.05 WARRANTY
A. Provide a minimum one-year warranty for all materials and labor, covering defects in the materials or workmanship.
B. Manufacturer's Warranty: Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of packaged engine generators and associated auxiliary components that fail in materials or workmanship within specified warranty period.
1. Warranty Period: one year from date of Substantial Completion.
1.06 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of product, including but not limited to generator, disconnects, and transfer switch.
1. Detailed generator system sizing calculations. (Calculations shall verify generator is properly sized to provide backup power for 15hp submersible well pumps along all other pump house building appurtenances. Estimated start up power demand of all appurtenances in concurrent operation is 23kW.

3. Include rated capacities, operating characteristics, electrical characteristics, and furnished specialties and accessories.
4. Include fuel consumption in cubic feet per hour (cubic meters per hour) at 0.8 power factor at 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 times generator capacity.
5. Include generator efficiency at 0.8 power factor at 0.5, 0.75, and 1.0 times generator capacity.
6. Include generator characteristics, including, but not limited to, kilowatt rating, efficiency, reactances, and short-circuit current capability.
B. Shop Drawings:
1. Include details of equipment assemblies. Indicate dimensions, weights, loads, required clearances, method of field assembly, components, and location and size of each field connection.
2. Identify fluid drain ports and clearance requirements for proper fluid drain.
3. Vibration Isolation Base Details: Detail fabrication including anchorages and attachments to structure and to supported equipment.

4. Include diagrams for power, signal, and control wiring. Complete schematic, wiring, and interconnection diagrams indicating terminal markings for EPS equipment and functional relationship between all electrical components.
C. Informational Submittals
1. Certified Test Reports: For components and accessories that are equivalent, but not identical, to those tested on prototype unit.
2. Report of sound generation.
3. Report of exhaust emissions indicating compliance with applicable regulations.
4. Field quality-control reports.
5. Warranty: For special warranty.
D. Closeout Submittals
1. Operation and Maintenance Data: For engine generators to include in emergency, operation, and maintenance manuals.
2. List of tools and replacement items recommended to be stored at project location for ready access. Include part and drawing numbers, current unit prices, and source of supply.
3. Operating instructions laminated and mounted adjacent to generator location.
4. Training plan.
1.07 PRODUCTS
A. Sign Material and Logo
1. 4’X6’X3/4” thick plywood panel construction using exterior APA Rated A-B
Grade plywood.
a. Supported by and bolted using two (2) 4”X4” posts with the bottom of the sign at a point about two (2) feet above the ground line.
2. Background color for sign may be white, gray, or blue.

B. Basis-of-Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Generac
Power Systems, Inc.; RG025 Protector Series or comparable equal product.
1.08 COMPLIANCE REQUIRMENTS
A. NFPA Compliance:
1. Comply with NFPA 37.
2. Comply with NFPA 70.
3. Comply with NFPA 99.
4. Comply with NFPA 110 requirements for Level 2 EPSS.
B. UL Compliance: Comply with UL 2200.
C. Engine Exhaust Emissions: Comply with EPA requirements and applicable state and local government requirements.
1.09 MATERIALS
A. Concrete pad for Generator and Propane Tank:
1. Generator and propane pads is to be installed a minimum of 10’ from the walls of the well house or, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, or as per any applicable code, whichever is greater.
2. 43” x 75”, nominal area and 4” thick (nominal) or, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, whichever is greater.
3. 60” x 144’ nominal area and 4” thick (nominal) for propane pad, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, whichever is greater.
4. Install such that 36” of space are available on all sides of the generator (minimum) or, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, whichever is greater.
5. 3” of depth for ½” - ¾” clean rock gravel and plastic vapor barrier
6. 4,000 psi concrete pad with #4 rebar, 12” On-center, raised 2” – 3” off gravel
7. Concrete pad not to be installed in below 40 degree temperature.
8. Concrete pad not to be installed in above 90 degree temperature.
9. Concrete not to be retemped.
10. Concrete to be placed within 90 minutes from dispatch from the plant.
11. No weight is to be put on the concrete pad until a minimum of 7 days have past.
B. Generator:
1. Minimum 22 kW nominal power provided.
2. Voltage 240V ac.
3. Phase Single
a. External solid-state, frequency compensated voltage regulation (+/- 1% regulation).
b. Governor to provide +/- 0.25% frequency modulation.
c. Automatic Voltage Regulation: Maintain constant output voltage regardless of input voltage variations up to plus or minus 10 percent.
d. Safety Functions: Sense abnormally low battery voltage and close contacts providing low battery voltage indication on control and monitoring panel.
Sense high battery voltage and loss of ac input or dc output of battery charger.
Either condition shall close contacts that provide a battery-charger malfunction indication at system control and monitoring panel.

4. Aluminum enclosure.
a. Generator packaged within weather protective enclosure
b. Enclosure Construction: Minimum 14 gauge [steel] [aluminum] with hinged, removable doors to allow access to the engine, alternator, and control panel.
Adjustable hinges to allow for door alignment. Hinges and all exposed fasteners must be stainless steel. Pop-rivets weaken the paint system and are not allowed on external painted surfaces. Each door will be equipped with lockable hardware and identical keys
c. Indoor and Outdoor Enclosures and Components: Manufacturer's standard finish over corrosion-resistant pretreatment and compatible primer
5. Oil type lubrication system.
6. Belt-driven water pump cooling system.
a. Integral Cooling System: Closed loop, liquid cooled, with radiator factory mounted on engine generator mounting frame and integral engine-driven coolant pump.
7. 2,400 cfm air flow (or, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, whichever is greater).
8. Minimum 140 degree F maximum operating temperature.
9. Made in the USA.
10. I.e., A Protector Series #RG025 Generac, or equal.
C. Controller:
1. LCD display.
a. Fully integrated microprocessor-based control system specifically designed for standby emergency engine generators, meeting all requirements of NFPA
110, Level 2 EPSS.
b. Digital controller with integrated touch screen, controls, and microprocessor, capable of local and remote control, monitoring, and programming, with battery backup.
c. Instruments: Located on the control and monitoring panel and viewable during operation.
1.) Engine lubricating-oil pressure gauge.
2.) Engine-coolant temperature gauge.
3.) DC voltmeter (alternator battery charging).
4.) Running-time meter.
5.) AC voltmeter, for each phase.
6.) Generator-voltage adjusting feature.
d. Controls and Protective Devices: Controls, shutdown devices, and common visual alarm indication, including the following:
1.) Run-Off-Auto switch.
2.) High engine temperature.
3.) Coolant high-temperature alarm.
4.) Battery high-voltage alarm.
5.) Battery-charger malfunction alarm.
6.) Hours of operation.
7.) Engine generator metering, including voltage, current, Hz, kW, kVA, and power factor.
e. Mode switch – Auto – Off – Manual
f. Auto start on line failure, with an automatic 7 day exerciser.

g. Off stops unit with power removed from line with control and charger in operational
h. Manual starts with starter control, and if utility fails, transfer to load occurs.
i. Programmable start delay (10 – 30 seconds), to be set on 16 seconds.
j. Engine start, warm-up, and cool down delay times.
k. Starter lock-out.
l. Smart “trickle” battery charger.
m. Automatic over and under voltage Regulation with over and under voltage protection.
n. Automatic low oil pressure shutdown.
o. Overcrank, low-battery, internal fault, governor failure and failure to transfer protection.
p. Safety fused.
q. Overspeed and high temperature shutdown.
r. 50 event run log.
s. The Controller must be integral to the Generator.
t. I.e., A Protector Series #RG025 Generac, or equal.
D. Prime Mover Stop-Switch:
1. Emergency generator prime-mover stop switch.
a. Labeled in red “stop”.
b. Mechanical reset.
c. Mounted on the building wall at chest level.
d. NEMA 3R or 4X, rated for outdoor use.\
e. Dayton 32W275, or approved equal or as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
E. Fuel and Tank:
1. Propane tank size-500 gallons.
2. Propane tank shall be filled with fuel.
3. Propane tank, fuel pressure 5 – 14 inch water column (9 – 26 mm HG) at full load or as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
4. Regulators installed as per the International Gas Code (IGC), and the above.
5. Regulator and fuel line diameter installed to meet the required flow of the manufacturer and IGC.
6. Regulator and fuel line to provide a minimum of 125 cubic feet per hour of flow
(or full load, whichever is greater).
7. Pressure gages installed on the fuel line as per the IGC & manufacturer’s recommendations.
F. Electrical wiring:
1. Flexible, electrically-rated, electrical pipe is to be installed in the concrete prior to placing the concrete, as necessary.
2. Two (2) inch electrical conduit is to house the power wiring to the ATS.
3. 2 AWG copper (or as per the minimum size requirements of the NEC).
4. NEMA 3R junction box for conduit runs with > 360 degrees of turns.
5. Wire size to be 2 AWG wire (THHN), or as per the NEC, if a larger size is required.
G. ATS:
1. Service rated, automatic transfer switch.

2. Minimum 150-amp rated transfer switch, as per manufacturer’s recommendations for proposed generator.
3. Automatic switchover to start the generator when line side power is lost.
4. NEMA 3R or 4X, outdoor-rated enclosure.
5. Double-throw (Line, off, generator).
H. Shut-offs/throw-switch
1. All throw switches are to be lockable, to meet the NEC.
2. All throw switches are to be single throw.
3. Remote Emergency-Stop Switch: Flush; wall mounted, unless otherwise indicated;
and labeled. Push button protected from accidental operation.
4. Two shut-offs on the circuit between the ATS and the generator.
5. Two pole, single phase, with neutral, (Schneider Electric H224NRB, or approved equal), with 150 Amp fuses or, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, whichever is greater..
6. One shut-off on the circuit between the ATS and the line.
7. Two pole, single phase, with neutral, (Schneider Electric H225NRB,or approved equal),with 150 Amp fuses, or, as per manufacturer’s recommendations, whichever is greater..
i.
1.10 EXAMINATION
A. Examine areas, equipment bases, and conditions, with Project Engineer and Operator present, for compliance with requirements for installation and other conditions affecting packaged engine generator performance.
B. Examine roughing-in for piping systems and electrical connections. Verify actual locations of connections before packaged engine generator installation.
C. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
D. Onsite Construction Sign
1. Erect and maintain project sign in good condition at visible location at the project site determined by Owner and IHS Project Engineer.
2. Sign must be in-place and erected no later than one week after the start of construction.
1.11 PREPARATION
A. Interruption of Existing Electrical Service: Do not interrupt electrical service to facilities occupied by Owner or others unless permitted under the following conditions and then only after arranging to provide temporary electrical service in accordance with requirements indicated:
B. Notify Project Engineer and Operator no fewer than three working days in advance of proposed interruption of electrical service.
C. Do not proceed with interruption of electrical service without Project Engineer and Operators written permission.
1.12 INSTALLATION
A. Comply with NECA 1 and NECA 404.
B. Comply with packaged engine generator manufacturers' written installation and alignment instructions and with NFPA 110].

C. Equipment Mounting:
D. Install packaged engine generators and propane tank on cast-in-place concrete equipment bases. Comply with requirements for equipment bases and foundations specified in Section 10.9 “Concrete Pad”
1. Coordinate size and location of concrete bases for packaged engine generators and propane tanks. Cast anchor-bolt inserts into bases. Concrete, reinforcement, and formwork requirements are specified with concrete.
2. Install packaged engine generator with restrained spring isolators as recommended by manufacture.
E. Gaseous Fuel Connections, Propane Tank and Service Line
1. Contractor is responsible for furnishings and installation of propane tanks at both locations.
2. Propane tanks shall be filled with fuel and ready for service.
3. Contractor is responsible for propane service line from tank to generator.
a. Gas service line sizing as recommended by manufacture.
4. Connect fuel piping to engines with a gate valve and union and flexible connector.
5. Install manual shutoff valve in a remote location to isolate gaseous fuel supply to the generator.
1.13 TESTING
A. Project-Specific Equipment Tests:
1. Before shipment, factory test engine generator and other system components and accessories manufactured specifically for this Project. Perform tests at rated load and power factor. Include the following tests:
2. Test components and accessories furnished with installed unit that are not identical to those on tested prototype to demonstrate compatibility and reliability.
3. Test generator, exciter, and voltage regulator as a unit.
4. Full load run.
5. Maximum power.
6. Voltage regulation.
7. Transient and steady-state governing.
8. Single-step load pickup.
9. Safety shutdown.
10. Provide 14 days' advance notice of tests and opportunity for observation of tests by
Owner's representative.
11. Report factory test results within 10 days of completion of test
1.14 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. Testing Agency:
1. Installer will engage a qualified testing agency to perform tests and inspections.
2. Engage a qualified testing agency to perform tests and inspections.
3. Engage a factory-authorized service representative to test and inspect components, assemblies, and equipment installations, including connections.
4. Perform tests and inspections with the assistance of a factory-authorized service representative.
B. Tests and Inspections:
1. Perform tests recommended by manufacturer and each visual and mechanical inspection and electrical and mechanical test listed in the first two subparagraphs below as specified in the NETA ATS. Certify compliance with test parameters.
C. Visual and Mechanical Inspection:
1. Compare equipment nameplate data with drawings and specifications.
2. Inspect physical and mechanical condition.
3. Inspect anchorage, alignment, and grounding.
4. Verify the unit is clean.
5. Test protective relay devices.

6. Verify phase rotation, phasing, and synchronized operation as required by the application.
7. Functionally test engine shutdown for low oil pressure, overtemperature, overspeed, and other protection features as applicable.
8. Perform vibration test for each main bearing cap.
9. Verify correct functioning of the governor and regulator.
10. NFPA 110 Acceptance Tests: Perform tests required by NFPA 110 that are additional to those specified here, including, but not limited to, single-step full-load pickup test.
11. Test for contact integrity of all connectors. Perform an integrity load test and a capacity load test for the battery.
12. Verify that measurements are within manufacturer's specifications.
13. Coordinate tests with tests for transfer switches and run them concurrently.
14. Test instruments shall have been calibrated within the last 12 months, traceable to
NIST Calibration Services, and adequate for making positive observation of test results. Make calibration records available for examination on request.
D. Leak Test: After installation, charge exhaust, coolant, and fuel systems and test for leaks. Repair leaks and retest until no leaks exist.
E. Operational Test: After electrical circuitry has been energized, start units to confirm proper motor rotation and unit operation for generator and associated equipment.
F. Test and adjust controls and safeties. Replace damaged and malfunctioning controls and equipment.
G. Remove and replace malfunctioning units and restest as specified above.
H. Retest: Correct deficiencies identified by tests and observations and retest until specified requirements are met.
I. Report results of tests and inspections in writing.
J. Record adjustable relay settings and measured insulation resistances, time delays, and other values and observations. Attach a label or tag to each tested component indicating satisfactory completion of tests.
1.15 MAINTENANCE SERVICE
A. Initial Maintenance Service: Beginning at Substantial Completion, provide 12 months' full maintenance by skilled employees of manufacturer's designated service organization. Include quarterly exercising to check for proper starting, load transfer, and running under load. Include routine preventive maintenance as recommended by manufacturer and adjusting as required for proper operation. Provide parts and supplies same as those used in the manufacture and installation of original equipment.
1.16 DEMONSTRATION
A. Engage a factory-authorized service representative to train Owner's maintenance personnel to adjust, operate, and maintain packaged engine generators.
1.17 SITE RESTORATION
A. Restore site to original condition.
B. Provide Record Drawings to the Project Engineer.
