About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the Oakhurst Park Drainage Improvements project in Decatur, Georgia, dated April 17, 2026. The project involves drainage improvements at Oakhurst Park, with construction requiring site work that includes earthwork management and landscape establishment. The engineer of record, Raymond Global, estimates approximately 40 cubic yards of cut material (in-place volume), though this quantity may vary based on unsuitable materials encountered during construction. A pre-construction meeting will be held prior to land disturbance to establish procedures for daily construction activities and address site logistics. Notably, a Subsurface Utility Engineering survey was not performed for the project, and contractors are required to contact 811 for utility locates before beginning any land-disturbing activities.
Post-construction maintenance requirements include a 90-day watering establishment period, weekly mowing, and two herbicide treatments for weed control. The city does not have an available location for excess soil disposal from the site, which contractors must account for in their proposals and logistics planning. The document indicates that improved site plans showing existing conditions, utilities, and larger site extents would be beneficial for contractor pricing and planning purposes, addressing concerns about the readability and comprehensiveness of drawing C201 in the plan set.

Questions and Answers (Q&A)
Oakhurst Park Drainage Improvements Proposals
DECATUR, GEORGIA
April 17, 2026
Question Answer
1) Confirm what, if any maintenance after construction acceptance is required for the project.
1) A 90-day watering establishment period, weekly mowing, and two
(2) treatment of herbicide for weed control.
2) Please have engineer provide a better site plan clearly showing existing conditions (i.e. utilities) with proposed site work. C201 is difficult to read and does not show larger extents of the site necessary for proper site logistics planning and pricing.
2) The engineer of record (Raymond Global) estimates that there will be approximately 40 cu-yds of cut (in-place volume), but this may vary depending on any unsuitable materials that also get removed.
The City does not have a location where excess soil from the site can be placed.
The plan set provides the location of the project and details for construction. A pre-construction meeting will be held prior to land disturbance to determine the best approach for day to day activities.
To my knowledge, a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) survey was not performed for this project. Contractors are expected to call
811 for utility locates prior to any land disturbing activities.
