About this file

This is a Sole Source Justification memorandum submitted by the Washington Army National Guard (WAARNG) to the U.S. Property and Fiscal Office for Washington on November 12, 2025.

The procurement is for renewal licenses and support services for Nutanix nodes, which provide the hardware infrastructure and virtual services supporting WAARNG's network operations, collaboration capabilities, and data management functions. The required products include three Prism Pro, 1-node licenses valid for 12 months each; AOS PRO entitlement and production 24/7 system support bundles for 12 months (one for 1 TiB of flash and one for 1 TiB of flash for 12 months); and 24/7 production-level short-term support renewal for a Nutanix HCI appliance. The total estimated cost is $145,000. The justification cites FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source) as the statutory authority, arguing that continued use of existing Nutanix infrastructure is necessary to avoid costly and time-consuming deviations. Market research was conducted through coordination with Nutanix representatives and a CHESS RFQ to solicit competitive quotes. The sole interested source identified is Nutanix, with point of contact Christian Blackner (1740 Technology Drive, Suite 150, San Jose, CA 95110; telephone: 301-524-1621; email: christian.blackner@nutanix.com). The justification was approved by Nicholas Parker, COL, FC WAARNG, Chief of Purchasing and Contracting, on March 11, 2026.
