Statement of Work/Specifications RFP No. NTIA0000-19-00121

1.0 BACKGROUND

Radio propagation measurement, analysis, and modeling are core functions of the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS). The primary functions of several key programs at ITS, including the Propagation Modeling, Clutter Measurements, and mm-wave programs, for example, are to measure, analyze, and model the effects of the radio propagation channel on the transmission and reception of radio signals. Radio propagation measurements form the basis of this work. To carry out these measurements, ITS relies on custom-built measurement systems. ITS requires mm-wave transmitter components such as frequency multipliers, amplifiers, filters, RF- power sensors, coaxial cables, and antennas to be able to construct and test these custom-built measurement systems to support laboratory experiments and field measurements related to emerging fifth generation (5G) mobile wireless technology.

2.0 OBJECTIVE

The objective of this procurement is to acquire a wideband, continuous wave (CW), 40-watt, traveling wave tube (TWT) power amplifier that operates at millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies (26.5 – 40 GHz) for radio propagation measurements using ITS custom-built measurement systems.
