About this file

This document is a Sole Source/Brand Name Justification for a federal contract opportunity under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT). The justification explains the circumstances for soliciting KEPCO brand power supplies and parallel kits, which are needed to power coils and electrodes during calibrated source runs. The total estimated price is $38,911 with a 10-12 week delivery timeframe after award. The justification cites the proprietary rights, exclusive licensing, and technical requirements that limit the availability of these power supplies to only the KEPCO brand.

The related federal contract opportunity is a combined synopsis/solicitation under FAR Subpart 12.6 for the KEPCO brand power supplies and parallel kits, set aside for small businesses. The Contracting Officer has determined only the KEPCO brand to be reasonably available. Quotes are requested under RFQ No. N0016724Q0116 with a NAICS code of 335999 and a 500 employee size standard. The solicitation is issued by the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command.
