About this file

This is a Question Submission template for the NSF X-Labs Initiative. The document serves as a standardized form for interested parties to submit clarifying questions about the initiative and related solicitation documents. Questions must be submitted via email to XLabs@nsf.gov with the topic title included in the subject line, and they must be received by the deadline specified in the Topic Announcement to be included in a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document posted on SAM.gov. NSF notes that not all submitted questions will necessarily receive direct answers.

The template requires submitters to provide point of contact information (name, organization/affiliation, and email) and to specify details about their question, including the related topic, referenced document, and relevant section(s). Submitters must categorize their question(s) using checkboxes covering eleven topic areas: overall initiative objectives, proposal submission and review, team eligibility and set-up, organizational structure and autonomy, partnerships and collaborations, budgets and funding, OT agreements and compliance, intellectual property ownership and management, structure/phases/milestones, scope and technology topics, accountability and impact, or other. The template provides space for detailed question submission but does not establish submission deadlines, award information, or specific contract vehicles, as this is a procedural form rather than a substantive solicitation document.
