Title: Chemical Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer

Contract Specialist: Julia Hamilton - Affiliate

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric

Association Earth Science Laboratory Chemical Sciences Division (NOAA ESRL CSD) requires a chemical ionization high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometer (HRTOF) to support our airborne trace gas measurement program. The HRTOF requested offers superior sensitivity, better chemical selectivity, and wider mass range compared to the existing custom-built quadrupole mass spectrometers built by CSD. The HRTOF must have a proven heritage of successful operation aboard research aircraft.

The HRTOF must have a mass range of up to 1000 AMU and a mass resolution of at least 3500.

The chemical ionization flow tube source must be configurable to permit the use of iodide reagent ions. It must come complete with time-of-flight mass spectrometer, vacuum system, data acquisition system, mass spectrometer control electronics and high-speed data acquisition card, and control software. The HRTOF must be flight-proven, demonstrated by previous successful deployments aboard pressurized turboprop and high-altitude jet research aircraft.

The following NAICS code and small business size standards apply to this requirement:

334516 – Analytical Laboratory Instruments (500 employees)

The Government anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price contract for the equipment.

This request for information does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will be issued. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the submission of contractor's information.

System for Award Management (SAM).

4. Company point of contact- name, phone, and e-mail address.

5. In a capability statement demonstrate the firm’s capabilities for meeting the proposed contract requirements demonstrating your firm’s ability to provide the services described herein. Include any recent past performance experience.

6. Identify any major work components that your firm would likely subcontract out.
