About this file
This document is a Notice to Contractors issued by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for multiple transportation infrastructure projects to be bid on June 13, 2025. The notice covers 28 separate construction and improvement projects across various counties in Georgia, including bridge replacements, road resurfacing, shoulder rehabilitation, highway lighting upgrades, pavement marking improvements, and intersection reconstructions. The projects range in length from 0.123 to 19.510 miles and involve work on state routes, county roads, and interstate highways. Project completion dates vary from April 30, 2026 to October 31, 2026, with specific timelines outlined for each contract. Bidders are required to submit electronic proposals through the AASHTOWARE Project Bids software by 11:00 AM on the letting date.
The projects are funded through federal and state transportation funds, with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goals ranging from 0% to 13% depending on the specific contract. Proposal guarantees are required, typically 5% of the bid total, and bidders must be prequalified or meet specific qualification requirements. The contract documents include detailed itemized quantities for materials, labor, and specific construction activities, with alternates provided for some projects such as recycled asphalt concrete leveling and asphaltic concrete crack relief interlayers. The projects aim to improve transportation infrastructure, safety, and mobility across different regions of Georgia, addressing needs such as bridge replacements, road resurfacing, shoulder rehabilitation, and intersection improvements.

In July 2015, Governor Deal signed into law the Transportation Funding Act (TFA) – dedicated transportation funding approved by the legislature to advance transportation and help make Georgia the #1 state for business investment. This much-needed funding – an estimated $830 million to $1 billion in annual revenues offers Georgia DOT the opportunity to address critical infrastructure needs in routine and capital maintenance.
One way the Department is using TFA funds is to address Maintenance & Operational Needs. Georgia DOT has prioritized the backlog of transportation needs for this additional funding; A primary focus areas include maintenance and operations. For example: Increased routine maintenance (pothole repair, grass mowing, litter pick-up, striping, guardrail repair and other preventative maintenance.)

• Traffic Signal and Device Maintenance
• Tree Cutting, Pruning and Removal
• Vegetation Removal
• Drainage Rehabilitation,Repair,Replacement,& Miscellaneous
• Guardrail Maintenance
• Sweeping and Storm Drain Cleaning
• Bridge Maintenance and Repairs
For those contractors who are currently prequalified as a GDOT Construction Prequalified Contractor or Registered Subcontractor through GDOT’s Construction
Bidding Administration Office, and want to be prequalified to perform maintenance projects under the Routine Maintenance Services Program, there is now a modified prime contractor’s application form available. We welcome you to participate. The application form and all applicable documents, resources and other guidance may be found on the GDOT website at:
