About this file

This is a Sole Source Notice issued by the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) announcing its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price commercial contract to Steris Corporation for maintenance and repair services of life science equipment. The contract will consist of a base year and four option years covering 16 total laboratory units, including Reliance 400XLS washers, AMSCO sterilizers, and VHP MD140X equipment located at USU in Bethesda, Maryland.

The sole source justification is based on Steris Corporation being the original equipment manufacturer and the only authorized service provider approved to perform maintenance and repairs on Steris equipment. Steris retains proprietary service software and technician access, and only allows authorized trained technicians to fully service the equipment. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(i), the notice invites all responsible sources to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and that the interested offeror can meet the Government's stated needs. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. Specific response dates and contact information are referenced in the associated Notice of Intent to Sole Source document.
