About this file

This is a Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) for FARO Arm proprietary maintenance, calibration, and repair services.

The requirement covers comprehensive tiered warranty coverage and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-certified calibration services for a fleet of 26 FARO instruments. The contract will be awarded on a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) basis to FARO Technologies, Inc. (CAGE Code 0VGY2) with a total estimated value of $555,627.67. The contract structure includes a 12-month base period followed by four optional 12-month periods. The acquisition is being conducted under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) utilizing commercial product and service procedures under FAR Part 12. The sole-source justification is based on FARO's exclusive proprietary rights to internal firmware, diagnostic software, and adjustment algorithms required to restore equipment to factory specifications; the requirement that unauthorized third-party service will void existing manufacturer warranty; and the absence of OEM-authorized third-party service providers certified to perform factory-level certification tasks. The NAICS code is 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance), and the PSC is J066 (Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment: Instruments and Laboratory Equipment). Interested parties must submit capability statements within 10 calendar days of publication, demonstrating OEM authorization, access to proprietary data, and certified ability to perform services without voiding warranty. Submissions should be directed to Contract Specialist Jennifer Langrehr at jennifer.b.langrehr.civ@army.mil and Contracting Officer Tanya D. Buttner at tanya.d.buttner.civ@army.mil, with solicitation number W91CRB26QA007 referenced in the subject line.
