URL DESCRIPTION Alvin C. York (Murfreesboro) Campus
Subject: SPECIAL NOTICE 36C24922Q0267
Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 9, intends to issue a Firm Fixed Priced contract under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-6(b), Items peculiar to one manufacturer. Award is anticipated to occur on or about April 8th, 2022, to Interior Fusion, L.L.C. The period of performance will be for sixty calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed.
This requirement includes the purchase of Guldmann ceiling lifts for the Alvin C York Veterans Administration Medical Center. The ceiling lifts will be utilized by medical professionals in a newly renovated area of the facility that will accommodate veteran patients. Each of these ceiling lifts will increase the movement of veteran patients that are recovering from invasive surgical procedures or who are currently receiving treatment for conditions that adversely impacts their ability to be independently mobile. Additionally, the renovated area of the facility will require ceiling lifts that can be deployed in emergency circumstances if a veteran requires treatment. These ceiling lifts will provide much needed mobility services and capabilities to the Alvin C York Veterans Administration Medical Center. Contractor will be responsible for the delivery of the ceiling lifts to Alvin C York Veterans Administration Medical Center in a timely manner.
NCO 9 intends to non-competitively award this requirement to Interior Fusion, L.L.C. Since the brand of ceiling lifts are most compatible with the proposed layout of the newly renovated area of the facility.
The ceiling lifts previously obtained from Interior Fusion, L.L.C. has provided the facility with the capacity to sufficiently support and transport veteran patients in routine and emergency circumstances. As a result, any contractor other than Interior Fusion, L.L.C. That would provide Guldmann ceiling lifts for to the facility would unintentionally cause a delay in support and transport activities. Unnecessary delays cannot be endured.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 337211 with the size standard of 1,000. The applicable Product Service Code is 7195. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotes. However, all responsible veteran owned small businesses and service-disabled veteran owned small businesses may submit an offer and technical capabilities/narrative that proves by clear and convincing evidence that similar ceiling lifts are available that will provide comparable support and transport capabilities for the facility. If said OFFER and technical capabilities/narrative is received within four calendar days of publication of this notice, the narrative will be considered by NCO 9. All responses must be submitted to the Government point of contact at the email address shown below. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will generally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
