Notice of Intent Summary
This is a Notice of Intent to Include Sole Source Specifications in a Future Contract issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District for the supply and delivery of a Generator Vacuum Circuit Breaker. The solicitation number is W912P526Q1CED, and the contract will be a Single Award Firm Fixed-Price supply contract. The procurement is for a replacement vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) designed to work with EATON VacClad-W Metal-Clad Switchgear at the Center Hill Power Plant. The replacement part number is 3759A72H12, and the circuit breaker being replaced is an EATON 150VCP-WG50. The VCB must be compatible with the existing Center Hill Power plant Eaton switchgear unit and cabinet configuration or will be rejected.
The specifications require the VCB to meet multiple technical requirements including: maximum voltage of 15 KV RMS with a voltage range factor of 1; insulation and withstand test voltage requirements including 36KV RMS power frequency, 42KV peak impulse withstand, and 95KV peak lightning withstand; and current requirements including 3000 amperes continuous current at 60 Hz, 50 KA RMS short circuit current, and 50 milliseconds breaking time. Additional specifications include minimum opening time of 32 milliseconds, interrupting time of 3 cycles, permissible tripping time of 2 seconds, making current of 137KA peak, short-circuit withstand of 3 seconds, breaking current of 25KA, mechanical endurance of 10,000 cycles, and load switching endurance of 1,000 cycles. The VCB must include standard features such as motor cutoff switch, latch check switch, two position switches, auxiliary switch, ground contact assembly, casters, and other standard receiving components and parts. Responses must be received by Monday, August 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Central Time. Interested parties should submit product information to Contract Specialist Jamie Lynn Barnes at Jamie.L.Barnes@usace.army.mil. The government will not be responsible for costs incurred in preparing responses.
