NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE
Project Title: New Boston AFS Land Mobile Radio System Upgrade
Solicitation No.: FA2550-20-Q-0005
The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price, new contract to Motorola Solutions, Incorporated (Motorola) for a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system upgrade requiring a “turnkey” project 25 compliant trunked LMR system that operates in the VHF range and derives core services from the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) Enterprise Core at Peterson AFB, and the Dynamic
System Resilience Core at Barksdale AFB. The system shall be designed to support legacy radios by interfacing to the existing conventional system until migration of all subscribers is complete. The period of performance for this effort will be a 4 month period starting in May. The total estimated value is less than $800,000.00.
This sole source contracting action is pursuing a waiver from placing an order on a competitive basis pursuant to FAR 8.405-2 for the aforementioned requirement based on the application of FAR 8.405-
6(a)(1)(i)(B).
Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of the Land Mobile Radio System upgrade initiative.
The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.
This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals.
