Notice of Intent to Sole Source

Solicitation Number: 75N94025Q00006 Solicitation Type: Sole Source (Non‐Competitive) Title: NIAAA: Service: GeoMx Maintenance Service Agreement NAICS / Size Standard: 811210 / 34 Million

Introduction

THIS IS A PRE‐SOLICITATION NON‐COMPETITIVE (NOTICE OF INTENT) SYNOPSIS TO AWARD A PURCHASE ORDER WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), Office of Acquisitions (OA), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Bruker Spatial Biology to provide a GeoMx maintenance service agreement.

Background Information

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) purchased the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler (DSP) instrument to study tissue heterogeneity and the complexity of microenvironments in the spatial context related to alcohol‐induced organ injury and in various fibrosis models. GeoMx DSP is the only spatial biology platform that non‐destructively profiles the expression of RNA and protein from distinct tissue compartments and cell populations with an automated and scalable workflow that integrates with standard histology staining. This technique will help the lab discover novel biomarkers for disease severity, understand disease mechanism and progression, uncover drug mechanisms of action, and study preclinical models. Uninterrupted operations are critical for their research mission.

Currently, multiple labs and lab members at NIAAA use this instrument for their ongoing projects.
