The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, FWS Carterville Fisheries Resource Office intends to negotiate a one-time sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order with INNOVASEA for Acoustic Receivers/Tags.
INNOVASEA is the only company that supplies acoustic receivers/tags to all other agencies/projects participating in the implementation of the Ohio River Basin Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework.
Other company's products are not compatible with the INNOVASEA system, and would therefore not be part of the Mississippi River Basin wide data network for reporting tag detections. Since this project and our current/former projects will be a part of the national Asian carp plan implementation:
1. VR2W-69kHz Coded Acoustic Receiver – 15 each
2. VR2W-69kHz Coded Acoustic Receiver – 4 each
3. Dangerous Goods (Lithium Battery) Handling Fee North America – 1 each
4. V16-6x Transmitter (Rounded Case) – 100 each
5. V9-2x-A69-1602; Rounded Case (Species) – 150 each
6. V9-2x-A69-1602; Rounded Case (Species)
Due to the nature of the acoustic telemetry technology and the equipment being utilized by our office, and many other FWCOs, there are no other companies capable of providing this equipment. Use of other brands of equipment would be incompatible with our existing equipment and may interfere with equipment already deployed for existing field work. The proprietary nature of acoustic telemetry equipment and the importance of compatibility with our existing equipment prevents use of other brands.
