26 June 2025
The 700th Contracting Squadron (700 CONS/PKB), Kapaun Air Station, Bldg. 2767, D-67661 Kaiserslautern hereby formally announces the intent to award a firm-fixed price open market to the company:
STERLING FLEET OUTFITTERS INC.
5425 Production Boulevard Surrey, Bc V3S 8P6 Canada
CAGE: L0M14
This requirement is needed to purchase heavy-duty camper shell from Sterling Outfitters Inc. for a Ford F-150 and Chevy Colorado truck, assigned to 1 EIS. This camper shell is essential for secure storage of sensitive equipment, providing a mobile tool bin around location in Europe, protecting specialized tools from the elements.
The camper shell must meet specific requirements for durability, security, and customization to effectively support the mission. It was not possible to find multiple sources with suitable equipment and accommodation for these vehicles.
This research included: Online searches using keywords such as 'heavy-duty truck cap,' 'commercial truck topper,' 'custom truck camper shell.'
Contacting local and national truck accessory retailers. Reviewing online forums and publications related to truck customization and outfitting. Evaluating product specifications and customer reviews for various camper shell manufacturers."
1 EIS encourages soliciting from as many authorized sources as necessary under Custom Camper Shell to maximize competition under FAR Part 13 while also making sure that the systems meet all mission requirements of function, cost and compatibility with both existing systems and technicians.
1 EIS strives to purchase systems which decrease proprietary restrictions on repair and technical support, balanced against the need to meet mission requirements and cost limitations. Efforts will continue to research and determine potential future sources and brands which will meet the network standard and permit potential vendors to compete.
