The US Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center intends to negotiate with the University of Iowa to continue research on nitrate reduction via reservoir water level management in central Iowa. The follow-on contract would collect additional boat survey data on nitrate concentrations in Red Rock Lake reservoir through July 2023 using specialized water quality monitoring equipment and methods developed under a previous cooperative agreement. Deliverables include analyzed data and a summary of sediment and nitrate loss rates. The contract will be conducted under NAICS code 541714 with a size standard of 1,000 employees and is not subject to set-aside restrictions.
