Unique Qualifications
Hunterdon Land Trust (HLT) is a significant land manager within Hunterdon County, NJ, bordering the
Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River. HLT provides technical assistance in enhancement, restoration and management of natural and agricultural areas to other non-profits, educational institutions, businesses, private landowners, and state and local governments. HLT provides interpretation and education services to visitors and school groups, and plays a critical role as a leading conservation organization covering the NJ communities bordering the Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River. Through its geographic coverage and variety of programs and activities—including land conservation and related educational programs; agricultural lands preservation; and passive, resource-sensitive recreation--HLT has proven to be an excellent conservation partner. HLT also has a unique understanding of wild and scenic river management issues as a named partner to the Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River
Management Committee which the NPS is charged with coordinating its management and administrative responsibilities under PL106-418, consistent with the Partnership Wild and Scenic model.
