About this file

This is a Combined Sources Sought Notice and Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

NIST is conducting market research to identify alternative sources capable of supplying proprietary parts for the continued operation of its Oxford PlasmaPro/Lab tools. Oxford Instruments America, Inc. (CAGE QK66A86PKE67) is currently identified as the potential sole source vendor; however, NIST has not finalized its acquisition strategy and may conduct a competitive procurement if viable alternative sources are identified. The response deadline is August 25, 2026. The Product Service Code is 6640 and NAICS Code is 333242.

Respondents must submit company information including corporate details, points of contact, SAM.gov registration status, and small business size determination relative to NAICS Code 333242. Responses should include feedback on draft requirements regarding clarity, competitiveness, domestic involvement, and "Made in America" product opportunities. Vendors must provide product specifications, original equipment manufacturer information, country of manufacture, pricing (both standard commercial and estimated price ranges), standard commercial terms and conditions including warranty details, FAR Clause 52.219-14 compliance capability if applicable, and information on existing GSA Multiple Award Schedule contracts or other federal contract vehicles. NIST reserves the right to use submitted information to establish final requirements and publish a future solicitation on eBuy or SAM.gov, though responses to this notice will not satisfy requirements for any subsequent solicitation. No contract award is guaranteed, and the Government assumes no obligation to acknowledge receipt or provide feedback on submitted information.

If NIST’s market research indicates there are alternative sources that are capable of and interested in competing to fill this requirement, separate and apart from Oxford Instruments America, inc.
