Text version
USDA, ARS, U.S. Sheep Experiment Station has the need to purchase a near infrared spectrometer (NIRS) like the KPM Analytics Unity Scientific SpectraStar XT-R or Equivalent.
Seeking a near infrared spectrometer (NIRS) for nutritive/non-nutritive/novel constituent analysis of feeds (e.g., pelleted, processed, mixed, raw) and grazing forages (individual or mixed species) consumed by ruminant animals (sheep, beef, dairy) as well as analysis of digestive contents/excreta . Specific analyses include common constituents (moisture, protein, fat, starch, and fiber), specialized constituents (e.g., amino acids, contaminants), and unique/discovery constituents of interest. The NIRS will be used in a research environment.
Quote must include delivery to Dubois, ID, 83423.
· Required Specifications:
· At minimum, manufacture must have available ready-to-use, continuously updated, global and regional (when available) calibrations for common beef-dairy-sheep feed/forage constituents, specifically moisture, protein, fat, starch, and fiber.
· At minimum, manufacturer must have available solutions for custom, in-house development of calibrations for unique/novel constituents
· GUI functionality software; stand-alone capable (operate without access to internet); standardized and customizable unit control, management, and operation capable; data processing, proofing, analysis, display, summary, and reporting capable; self-diagnostics capable; outlier/error detection capable; supports manufacture remote diagnostics and troubleshooting; auto-calibration capable.
· NIRS
