About this file
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services issued by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a component of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The solicitation seeks proposals to procure human postmortem brain tissue and associated specimens within a fifteen-mile radius of NIH Bethesda. Services required include obtaining specimens at autopsy from medical examiner offices or other sources, and providing them along with case background and next-of-kin contact information to NIMH's Human Brain Collection Core. The acquired specimens will support research into the neurobiology of complex mental disorders. The base period of performance is September 30, 2022 to September 29, 2023 with four optional one-year extensions. Proposals are due by May 25, 2022. Evaluation will consider technical approach and price, with technical significance higher than price. Award will be a firm fixed price purchase order paid via electronic funds transfer.
