Site Visit Pre-Proposal Questions

Due Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. (EST)

Question 1:

Could you clarify what wiring would the successful offeror would be responsible for, as referenced in the Performance Work Statement (PWS)/ General Requirements/ Electrical (section)? As worded, it states that successful offeror would be responsible for all the wiring from the building main disconnect. The building disconnects at times are 20 to 50 feet from the equipment and is normally considered part of the facility. Should it read as follows:

Electrical: The Contractor shall inspect, maintain, repair and/or replace all electrical wiring and components from the load side of the main power switch on all sterilizers, washers, and bedding dispenser’s equipment?

Answer 1:

No, “the Contractor shall inspect, maintain, repair and/or replace all electrical wiring and components from the main disconnect to all sterilizers, washers, and bedding dispensers equipment”. (The PWS has been updated to reflect this update.)

Question 2:

Is the Preventive Maintenance schedule to be determined and approved by the Contractor? In the PWS under Preventive Maintenance it states, “the PM schedule shall be established and be in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, but no less than annually.” Again under Task 2 Sterilizers Preventive Maintenance it states, “The contractor shall provide the PM schedule to the COR within (10) days of the contract award and within (10) days of exercising each option year.” The manufacturer’s recommendations for all the equipment is once per quarter (4 times per year). However much of the equipment is 20 years or more old and would affect how often they should be checked. If the interested parties of this Solicitation bid using different PM frequencies the bid amounts could be very different, please clarify.

Answer 2:

No, the Preventative Maintenance schedule shall be established in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendation, but no less than annually, and approved by the Contracting Officer Representative and/or designative representative.

Task 2 Sterilizers Preventative Maintenance schedule shall be provided within (10) days following the post-award conference and within (10) days of exercising each option period. As a minimum, the sterilizers equipment must have preventative maintenance performed at least four times per year or quarterly.

Question 3:

Could we be provided a current equipment list (Attachments #1 and #2)?

Answer 3:

The updated equipment lists are attached.
