Statement of Work
1. BACKGROUND
The National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) provide Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) for use by the NIH and all other Federal civilian and Department of Defense (DOD) agencies. NITAAC has received Executive Agent Designation from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to provide its IT acquisition services to its client agencies through three Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) vehicles. The GWAC contracts managed by NITAAC include: Chief Information Officer—Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3), Chief Information Officer—Solutions and Partners 3 Small Business (CIO-SP3 SB) and the Electronic Commodities Store III (ECS III). A follow-on contract to the ECS III GWAC is also anticipated.
By streamlining operations and increasing the efficacy and usability of these contracts, NITAAC has been able to simplify the IT procurement process between Government and industry while providing the forum to identify superior, commercially available IT solutions for their client agencies. NITAAC is a “fee for service” organization with the responsibility for delivering efficient and effective administrative services at a high level of customer service to the entire Federal government.
