Amendment 1 - Questions and Answers to RFP No. NIHES2013160

Title: Support of the Research Effort to Evaluate the Toxic and Carcinogenic Potential of Test

Agents in Laboratory Animals for the National Toxicology Program (NTP)

1) Page 79 of the RFP (Additional Business Proposal Instructions section) states that

Offerors are to assume a start date of January 31, 2014. Page 5 of Attachment 3

(Statement of Work) says to assume a start date of October 1, 2013. Please indicate the assumed start date.

Response: Assume a start date of January 31, 2014.

2) Attachment 6 pp. 9 & 12: Sample Work Assignment B describes dosing of Dams during the perinatal phase and of rats and mice during the 2-year phase at 4 dosage levels (1, 3, 10 or 30 ppb). However, the tables with numbers of animals show 3 treatment groups. Are both correct (i.e. 3 of the 4 dosages will be selected)?

Response: Sample Work Assignment B for the Conduct of studies to evaluate the toxicity and carcinogenicity of n-nitrosodimethyl amine - Yes, in two locations, the text of Sample Work Assignment B spells out four dosage levels (0, 1, 3, 10 or 30 ppb), while the respective tables only indicate 3 treatment groups. For Sample

Work Assignment B, offerors should assume FOUR treatment groups (0, 1, 3, 10 or

30 ppb) and the number of dose groups in the tables should be FOUR instead of three. This applies to the rat perinatal period as well as the rat and mouse 2-year studies.

3) Section L.9, Personnel, pg. 65: The RFP states, "Provide CVs for all Key Personnel and

Critical Staff (limit to 10 pages)." Please verify that the page limit is 10 pages per CV rather than 10 pages overall.

Response: Yes, the limit is 10 pages PER CV. It is not a 10 page limit overall.
