STATEMENT OF NEED FOR SUPPLY OR SERVICE < $150K

PURPOSE: Replacement Underway CTD Probe with two (2) more probes

The Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC), of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Department of Commerce (DOC), is a government agency charged with the mission of stewardship for living marine resources.

The National Marine Fisheries Service, Southwest Fisheries Science Center, Advanced Survey Technologies Group, has the requirement for an Underway CTD (UCTD) probe to replace a unit which was lost at sea. This unit will function with our existing Teledyne / Oceanscience UCTD system purchased in FY13.

The Teledyne / Oceanscience Underway CTD System has been purchased by the NWFSC in FY12 and SWFSC in FY13 via Sole Source. Teledyne / Oceanscience is the only manufacturer of the Underway CTD but have representatives in the US and worldwide who sell the Teledyne / OceanSciences Underway CTD.

The Teledyne / Oceanscience brand Underway CTD allows standardization of equipment among NOAA Fisheries Research Vessels. This equipment standardization will also facilitate spares, repairs and shared knowledge and experience.

Teledyne / Oceanscience Underway CTD uses Sea Bird Electronics CTD components which are the industry standard for CTDs.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

The two (2) Underway CTD Probes must be compatible with our existing Teledyne / Oceanscience underway CTD System, purchased in FY13.

The Technical Specifications for the existing Teledyne / Oceanscience Underway CTD System are as follows:

Two (2) Portable Underway CTD, davit and winch system using a Sea-Bird CTD Probe 10-400 Instrument Package with data logging Pressure: 0 – 2000 m Blue tooth wireless communication 1000 m maximum depth Operational Vessel Speed 8-12 kts Programmable Automated rewind Power requirements: 110/220 VAC, 50/60 Hz Measurement ranges:

Temperature 5 – 43° C Conductivity 0 – 9 S/m

DELIVERABLE SCHEDULE:

30 days ARO. Customer will pick up both units directly from Seller.
