Statement of Work Acroporid Coral Tissue DNA Extraction/Analysis

Scope of Work

The Awardee shall have the primary responsibility for implementing the following activities:

Task 1: Extract DNA from a maximum of 480 samples of Acropora palmata or A.

cervicornis tissue samples.

Task 2: Conduct genotypic analysis of extracted samples using Coral Axiom Chip mini array.

These samples will be collected by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)/Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC), preserved in 96% molecular grade ethanol and sent to the Contractor at least two months prior to the end date of the award for analysis. Should genotyping fail for a given sample, PCR and genotyping will be repeated once. If still no results can be obtained, this sample will be regarded as failed due to poor preservation and/or low DNA concentration and no further attempts will be made to analyze that sample.

Deliverables

Samples will be analyzed and results provided to SEFSC within 90 days of submission.

The Contractor shall return the results of the axiom mini array as an Excel or comma separated (csv) file.
