About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to the bid documents for a chiller replacement project at New Town Elementary School issued by UCPS (Unifying County Public Schools) in North Carolina. The project, identified as Bid Number 6-97648057, requires the contractor to provide all labor, equipment, materials, permits, fees, and inspections to deliver a complete turnkey chiller replacement system. All work must be completed by August 10th, 2026, with the desired substantial completion date listed on sheet M001 of the project plans. The addendum addresses six key inquiries from prospective bidders and clarifies specifications regarding the building automation system, existing onsite controls, and project contacts. Contractors must submit the Prequalification Form for Single Prime Contractors as part of their bid response. Project award will occur after the winning bid's relevant paperwork has been reviewed and approved.
The addendum establishes a $40,000 allowance for the project, which represents 10% of the Base Bid amount. Key clarifications include confirmation that the existing onsite controls are Tridium N4 systems (not Trane SC+ as originally stated in specifications), direction to consult specification 230900 for building automation system requirements, and identification of Southwest Engineers (Jordan Winstead, 252-521-1981) as the water treatment chemical representative. Bidders are advised to consult directly with their chiller provider regarding delivery lead times and to reference the project drawings and specifications for completion details. All other terms, conditions, and specifications of the original bid documents remain unchanged.
