Text version
1. On page 4, QTY = 1. Does this mean that the work opportunity is for one month only?
No, it is from 31 October 2012 - 30 September 2013 (12 months) with a second optional year from 1 October 2013 to 30 September 2014. The "QTY = 1" on page 4 is a mistake (typo) and has been amended; the time period for the initial year has also been amended. The amendment has been posted the Federal Business Opportunities website.
2. Since this is not an offer of employment am I correct in assuming that there are no benefits (such as health insurance)? Correct.
Correct. There are no benefits.
3. We are talking about part time work (average 5-10 hours per week). Since this is the average amount of work and in some weeks it can be as high as 30-40 hours (as stated on page 6), then in order to maintain a 5-10 average it means that there will be times during which I will have no work to do. Is my understanding correct?
Yes, that could be the case.
4. Can you please give me some idea about the scope of work? The tasks listed on page 6 seem very general and do not quantify the amount of work required. Will I be working on some of those activities or will I be doing a little bit of everything? Will I be doing most work from home or will I be required to travel daily?
It is difficult to further specify the scope of work or tasks beyond what is already included in the RFP.
Most work could be done from home.
5. As I have never done this kind of contract work before, I am comparing the expected workload, salary and working conditions with what I would expect in a typical university research position. Is it possible for you to give me a rough idea about the salary that people have received in the past for this kind of work?
There is no 'salary' since this is not a full-time position. However, the typical amount paid for the work described in this RFP would be between $12,000 and $15,000 for the first year inclusive of travel and ALL other costs (travel estimated at $3000 per year).
6. There is mention of participating schools in the rfp. Could you clarify how many treatment and comparison schools are there in total?
There are eight (8) treatment schools. The number of control schools has not yet been determined. (As noted in RFP, please see http://pcah.turnaroundarts.gov for more details.)
7. There is a mention that 5 to 10 hours a week is expected work which may go up to 30/40 hours depending on the stage of the project. However, the budget sheet provides only a monthly loaded rate.
Could you modify it to reflect the fluctuation or should be ballpark our hours for the response?
Please ballpark/estimate your hours for the response.
http://pcah.turnaroundarts.gov/
8. Is there a page limit for the proposal/ response?
8 pages excluding resume.
9. Would you be able to give me an estimated budget for this position?
$12,000 to $15,000 inclusive of travel and ALL other costs (travel estimated at $3000 per year).
10. Is there a current incumbent for the work? If yes, is he/she allowed to re-bid?
There is no current incumbent for this work.
11. As per the subject mentioned solicitation the proposal page limit is given 8 pages; I just need to confirm that this limit is including the personnel’s resume or it is excluding resume?
8 pages excluding resume.
