Questions and Answers:

Question 1: The bathroom ceilings are low. The ADA bathroom ACT ceiling is 7’2”. Please confirm ACT is not in the scope of work. (Rcvd 7/28/23)

Answer 1:

The ceiling does not need to be removed, according to ADA guidelines "Bathrooms, toilet rooms, kitchens, storage rooms and laundry rooms shall have a ceiling height of not less than 7 feet (2134 mm)."

Question 2: The existing door opening into the ADA bathroom meets ADA width and height requirements. Please confirm we are just replacing the door and frame with SOW required door/frame/operator/pushbuttons and do not need to widen the opening if it meets ADA.

Answer 2:

That is correct; if it is the correct height and width and can accommodate a full ADA set up there is no need to change anything additional.
