About this file
This document is a Market Research Memorandum related to a federal contract opportunity for the procurement of a FlightWave Edge 130 Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).
The memorandum states that NCIS requires a small, lightweight fixed-wing commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) UAS with a high-resolution camera system that is listed on the Defense Innovations Unit (DIU) Blue UAS list and can be used for Search and Rescue, Intelligence Surveillance and Target Acquisition, and Survey and Mapping missions. After market research, it was determined that the FlightWave Edge 130 is the only UAS that meets the specified requirements and is available directly from the manufacturer, FlightWave Aerospace Systems Corp, which is a small business. The total estimated cost for the system is $36,200 with a required award date of June 18, 2024 and a 180-day delivery period. The Contracting Officer has approved proceeding with a sole source award to FlightWave Aerospace Systems Corp.
