About this file
This is a Statement of Need (SON) for the procurement and installation of a Powerex Scroll Enclosed SET2257HP air compressor system to replace an existing Hitachi compressor (M/N: SRL-16.5MB6MH, S/N: QB003096) at the National Cancer Institute's Clinical Pharmacology Program. The air compressor system, to be coupled with a refrigerated air dryer, is required to generate high-pressure compressed air that supplies a Peak Infinity 5060 nitrogen generator to produce 99.95% pure nitrogen gas for five mass spectrometers. The requirement is classified as a Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order with delivery and installation required within five days of purchase order award at 10 Center Drive, Room 5A10, Bethesda, MD 20892. Peak Scientific has designated LBS Corporation as the sole qualified contractor to perform the installation due to their possession of the appropriate replacement unit and capability to install within the existing space; market research confirmed no other companies met Peak Scientific's maintenance standards for this compressor system.
Payment shall be made at time of acquisition through submission and approval of invoices to the Contracting Officer's Representative and NIH Office of Financial Management in accordance with FAR 52.232-25 (Prompt Payment).
