Questions and Answers

RFQ: NB688000-19-00989

Title: Crystalline Super-Mirror Coatings

Amendment 1:

The Purpose of Amendment 1 is to provide response to Questions.

Question 1 - What is the material type of the NIST provided substrate?

Answer 1 - Fused Silica

Amendment 2:

The purpose of Amendment 2 is to provide responses to Questions.

Question 2 - Besides the material type that I see in the appendix. I would like to clarify that there are no coatings on either side of the substrate. Is that correct? (In other words, the substrates do not already have a backside AR coating on them.)

Answer 2 – The NIST supplied materials have no coatings on either side of the substrate.

NIST would like the vendors to quote backside AR coatings as well as the crystalline coatings on the frontside. The backside AR coatings may consist of dielectric materials.

Question 3 - There seems to be some kind of disconnect in the dimensions of the part. You list the part as being 1 inch in diameter, but the radius of the curvature as 10.2 meters. Can you please provide clarification on this?

Answer 3 - The 1 inch diameter mirror substrates are approximately disc-shaped. One side of the mirror substrate is flat, whereas the other side is concave. The concave surface has a spherical profile with a radius of curvature of 10.2 meters.
